Supporting Indigenous Education - A Maison Burlesque Fundraiser

SATURDAY 6th - SUNDAY 14th JUNE

Pay for a Drop-in Class or Class Pass at Maison Burlesque this week and 100% of your class payment will be donated to supporting our Indigenous Communities.

At Maison Burlesque we acknowledge the privilege we have and want to do what we can to help work towards equality for our Australian Indigenous Communities.

We recognise there are many amazing indigenous charities that are worth supporting right now and have added a full list to the end of this post.

For our Fundraiser we have chosen to donate 100% of payments received between 6-14 June for our classes or class passes to the Cathy Freeman Foundation.

For 13 years the Cathy Freeman Foundation (CFF) has worked to close the education gap for Indigenous children and provide them pathways to a brighter future. The Cathy Freeman Foundation fundamentally believes that the key to breaking the cycle of disadvantage lies in closing the education gap from an early age. CFF delivers culturally supportive education programs to 1600 Pre-Prep to Year 12 aged students in four remote Indigenous communities, where education outcomes are amongst the worst in Australia.

The vision of the Cathy Freeman Foundation is simple but ambitious: An Australia where Indigenous and non-Indigenous children have the same education standards and opportunities in life.
