Go from drab to fab in this beginner friendly wig styling workshop hosted by wig styling guru, sensational drag artiste and the recent winner of Miss Gay Australia 2018... Esther Rix!
Learn to style your own wig with just the VaVaVoom you want for the stage... A must for every wig loving burlesque performer or drag artist!
Every participant will leave with their own unique styled lace front wig that is ready to wear, with 9 different wig colours to choose from!
In this workshop you will cover: - Introduction to wig styling - Wig maintenance, care & storage - How to block a lace front wig - How to backcomb, style and smooth your perfect hair-do - Style a pre-set 'Marilyn' vintage style short and curly lace front wig that is yours to keep (in your choice of colour)
All materials & tools are provided for the workshop.

About Esther Rix
Through her alter ego Kristian, Esther was born from a a love of playing dress up and makeup before to making it her full time career and achieving a Diploma of Specialist Makeup at Melbourne Polytechnic, where her passion and talent for wig styling truly blossomed.
Esther burst on to the drag scene early 2014, competing against fellow queens who have since become some of Melbourne's finest. And the rest is history! Since her debut, Esther has made quite a name for herself in the Drag world, where not only does she beat a good face and style a mean wig, she's been classically trained in voice at WAAPA. And when performing, Esther sings instead of lipsyncing, which gives her a point of difference from her piers. What started off four years ago as a small hobby business styling wigs for friends, has blossomed and flourished in to the successful career she is proud of today.
Esther is a fully qualified makeup artist, wig and hair stylist. Esther specialises in vintage sets, finger waves and voluminous curls, but can recreate any style and loves a challenge! You may have seen Styled by Esther creations on some of our famous Melbourne Drag queens such as Polly Filla and Karen from Finance, Burlesque performers like Maple Rose and Ruby Slippers, or in a number of theatre productions around Australia.
The pinnacle of Esther's career has been supplying wigs for several huge name queens starring in RuPaul's Drag Race including Laganja Estranja, Pandora Boxx, Latrice Royale, Jujubee, Eureka O’hara and the beautiful Shangela even wore a Styled by Esther wig on the RuPauls Drag Race All Stars Season 3 Finale!
